Eurotransplant Winter Meeting 2010
Just like last year, the Eurotransplant Winter Meeting provides a learning environment involving a mix of general presentations and workshops on several topics.
The aim is to strengthen the scientific potential and to open the meeting beyond Eurotransplant's delegates.
Leading experts in transplant medicine will teach and share experiences with young professionals about the latest developments in the area of organ procurement, organ allocation, organ transplantation, aftercare and ethical issues.
This year's topics include:
- New approaches to kidney allocation
- The latest insights in pancreas islets transplantation
- How to organize organ donation in Eastern Europe
The winner of the Henk Schippers Young Investigators Award, Dr. Pieter Gillard (Leuven, Belgium), will present his thesis about beta-cell transplantation in type I diabetic patients.
The purpose of this Eurotransplant award is to encourage young clinical and/or scientific investigators to pursue a career in the field of organ and tissue transplantation.
